Event Details

IREC (International Real Estate Conference) is an international real estate event that debuted in the Asian region in 2015. It is an annual event that is hosted in an Asian country where the host country is a bilateral partner of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) who will hold the IREC event in partnership with NAR.

IREC is a premier conference that enables entities from all fields related to real estate including development, distribution, investment and the like, to gather together, to participate and to exchange opinions regarding the current and future status of the real estate markets around the world. It is also an education and networking event for real estate professionals.

IREC has been held in Philippines in 2015, in Thailand in 2016, in Incheon, South Korea in 2017, in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2018 and in Tokyo, Japan in 2019, before it was temporarily put in hiatus due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

IREC is resuming its 6th conference in 2024 in Malaysia where it will be hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA). NAR is supporting the conference as a strategic partner. The conference venue will be at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 6 - 8 September 2024 (IREC 2024) with the theme 'Bridging Borders Building Opportunities'.

YBhg Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman is the Executive Chairman of Rahim & Co International Sdn Bhd. Prior to establishing Rahim & Co in 1976, he served as a Valuation Officer with the London Borough of Hounslow, a Valuation Officer with the Valuation Division of the Ministry of Finance, the Properties Manager of Malayan Railways and the Properties Manager of Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad.

In his professional capacity, Tan Sri has served as a member of the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers, Malaysia. He has been Past Presidents of The Royal Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia (1986 – 1987), The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Malaysian Chapter (1982 – 1986), The Asia Pacific Real Estate Federation (1985 – 1988) and The Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector Malaysia (PEPS) (1990 – 1994).

Tan Sri was elected the Deputy World President of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) in 1990 for a 2-year term. Tan Sri Rahim was awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) that carries the title Tan Sri from His Majesty the King of Malaysia in 2014. He was also appointed as a Senator by His Majesty the King from 2010 – 2016.

Tarun works as a partner at M/s Shaloo Agencies, a real estate consultancy firm in existence since 1980 in Delhi NCR with offices in New Delhi and Gurugram. With a timeline of more than 32 years of experience in the real estate industry, he enjoys the trust of his clients, developers, and fellow realtors. Tarun is a graduate from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, India and a post-graduate in Finance from ICFAI, India.

Tarun strongly believes in integrity, transparency, honesty, hard-work and maintaining professional relationships with Clients, Developers, & Fellow Realtors. He has always tried to bring energy, creativity, experience and personal knowledge to work. He also believes in sharing best practices and knowledge with fellow Realtors & Developers.

As a realtor consultant, Tarun specialises in both residential and commercial projects of reputed developers of Delhi NCR and has successfully consulted for projects ranging from residential, commercial offices, commercial retail, hospitality, warehousing, logistics and education sectors.

Over the years, his firm has received a number of awards from these developers. Tarun loves to spend quality time with his family and is passionate about animals, nature, travelling, photography, reading, sports, music and history.

Real estate veteran & visionary entrepreneur, Ismail Gafoor, is the catalyst behind homegrown icon PropNex, the largest listed real estate agency in Singapore. He built his empire growing from Nooris Consultants, a 2-man setup from a small office in Chinatown to what has become the agency of choice with over 12,000 salespersons today.

ACHIEVEMENTS WITH PROPNEX:
· Co-founded PropNex with like-minded individuals to transform the real estate landscape.
· Established the dual career path for Real Estate Salesperson in 2000.
· Levelled up the professionalism of the industry by making compulsory indemnity insurance before the proper inception of regulatory bodies in 2008.
· Expanding a homegrown icon regionally (Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia & Australia).
· Led his team to be publicly listed within 7 months of conceptualisation in 2018.

Before devoting his work full-time to PropNex, Ismail served 13 years as a pensionable officer in the Singapore Armed Forces taking on many pivotal roles such as Battalion and Brigade Commander where he honed his leadership skills which are second to none. He retired as a Colonel in 2019, holding his last appointment as the Chief of Staff for the 9th Infantry Division of the Singapore Armed Forces.

Ismail's numerous accomplishments in his life have yielded recognition in terms of personal accolades with being awarded the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004, the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Overall Indian Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008 and one of his greatest achievement was to be conferred the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE) in 2015-rising to the top among 390 local entrepreneurs.

A man who dedicates his life to the betterment of others has served on several committees and boards giving back to society in different ways and forms. He was the President of the Institute of Estate Agents (IEA), a member of the Lifelong Learning Council and a member of the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD). Currently, he serves as the President of Spirit of Enterprise (SOE), a role where he hopes to encourage more entrepreneurs to take the leap of faith and pursue their dreams. He is also a Member of the MENDAKI Education Trust Fund (ETF) Committee since 2019.

Ismail's journey from a military officer to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to his resilience, leadership skills, and determination. As he continues to inspire and shape the real estate industry and entrepreneurship landscape in Singapore, there is no doubt that his contributions will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

As Vice President of KW Worldwide, JP Lewis is helping tell the story of Keller Williams Realty as he has done for almost two decades. Since 2004, JP has been a constant champion of the KW models and systems. Whether it was in helping launch KWConnect, building the KW Video division, partnering with KWU and MAPS Coaching, or leading his team as the Executive Director of Media Services, JP has always been an advocate of “following the model.” He is a KWU-Approved Faculty Trainer, licensed Realtor, real estate investor, an executive officer of the KW Worldwide Franchise System, and an 18-year veteran of Keller Williams Realty International.

Kevin Sears (AHWD, C2EX), a REALTOR® from Springfield, Mass., is 2024 president of the National Association of REALTORS®. He is a broker with Sears Real Estate/Lamacchia Realty, specializing in single-family brokerage and property management. He has served NAR in numerous capacities, including as a President’s Liaison in 2019 and as NAR Vice President of Government Affairs in 2017.
Kevin has been recognized as an RPAC Major Investor since 2004 and has been a “Golden R” investor and member of the President’s Circle since 2007. He has twice been inducted into NAR’s RPAC Hall of Fame. He also served as the long-time Federal Political Coordinator to Bay State Congressman Richard Neal (D-Springfield).

Kevin chaired an RPAC Disbursements Presidential Advisory Group in 2021. In addition, he served as Chair of the NAR RPAC Trustees in 2011 and 2015 and Chair of the REALTOR® Party Trustees for State and Local Campaign Services Committee in 2013. In 2016, he chaired the REALTOR® Party of the Future Strategic Planning Work Group. Also in 2016, he was NAR’s Vice President for Region 1, comprised of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® elected Kevin President in 2010. In addition to serving in leadership, Kevin has been a member or an alternate of the MAR Board of Directors since 2000. In 2006, MAR named him REALTOR® of the Year and in 2015 he received the Milton H. Shaw Distinguished Service Award.

The REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley (Mass.) elected Kevin their president in 2005. He has chaired a number of the association’s committees and in 2006, the association named him their REALTOR® of the Year.

Kevin is also a champion for his community. In 2011, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick appointed him as Chairman of the Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons (the state’s real estate commission), a position he was reappointed to in 2016 by Gov. Charlie Baker.

In his hometown of Springfield, Kevin has been involved with the Rental Housing Association of Greater Springfield, the Forest Park Civic Association, the Springfield Rotary Club, the Cathedral High School Board of Trustees, the Chamber of Commerce, and was a Trustee of the Mason Wright Retirement Community.
Kevin received a B.A. in History from Providence College and earned his MBA from Western New England University.

Previn Singhe is a distinguished Business and Real Estate strategist with over 35 years of extensive experience across Malaysia, Vietnam, and the UK. He is a Registered Estate Agent, Valuer, and Property Manager with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents, and Property Managers, Malaysia (BOVAEP) since 1995. Previn has successfully led teams of up to 100 professionals and managed transactions exceeding RM8 billion, particularly in the Office, Retail, Industrial, and Hospitality sectors.

He has worked closely with prominent local and international boards, including HPL, YTL, and Kingdom Hospitality, and has played a pivotal role in strategic marketing, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance. Previn’s expertise in mergers and acquisitions has been instrumental in introducing brands like Tune Hotels, Four Points by Sheraton, and Kempinski Hotels S.A. to Malaysia. He was recognized by RFP Magazine for his outstanding contributions to the industry, notably the sale of Four Seasons Langkawi to Kingdom Hotel Investments.

Previn was voted as one of Asia's Most Influential 2023 by Tatler Asia and was honored as Malaysia's Property Icon by FIABCI-KSI in 2024.

Mr. Precha Suphapetiporn is the founder and Managing Director of Acute Realty Group, a
real estate agency in Thailand with four offices located in Bangkok, Hua Hin (Southern),
Chiang Mai (Northern), and Chonburi (Eastern). With over 24 years of experience in the Thai
real estate market, he is skilled in residential and commercial property sales. Since 2021, he
has served the real estate community as the President of the Thai Real Estate Sales &
Marketing Association (RESAM). In this capacity, he has been instrumental in advancing the
standards of real estate sales and marketing in Thailand, fostering professional development,
and advocating for the interests of real estate professionals.

As a member of the Thai Real Estate Broker Association (TREBA), Mr. Precha
Suphapetiporn actively participates in industry initiatives and contributes to the continuous
improvement of the real estate sector in Thailand.
